I can't pull it out
« on: March 07, 2008, 09:19:12 am »
The oil feed line is stuck in the fitting that goes into the top of the turbo. The ferrule(sp?) is stuck in it, and turns with the fitting. While it still should work ok, I would prefer to get the thing off. Any ideas?

I almost didnt even look at your post with the title and the ammount of porn we have been getting here the last few days.

Sorry, no ideas for your oil line at the moment.

Are you saying when you un screw the nut it wont slide up the tube? then the ferrule is stuck in the fitting?

If it's like most of the ones i've done, the way i do it is drive a chisel along a flat side of the fitting that's turning. It should jam up between the fitting and the housing of the turbo. That way the fitting will stay put will you turn the line fitting.
There has twice been a link on this site which is an anti virus virus. I have had 3 different "spyware" viruses ,one of which my computer guy is having real problems getting rid of. Of course at home i have a Mac so no problem there, but here at the shop i had to get a pc laptop to do install Vagcom, so i'm now being super careful.

Yep, the tube and ferrule are stuck in the fitting. Luckily they turn though.

Got it. I heated the fitting really hot, and sprayed around the ferrule with a cooling spray, then grabbed the ferrule with pliers and the fitting with a wrench and turned, and it popped off. :D
