how much for a set of shims for eight injectors? 1.6L single springi dont have a pop tester yet, however, so i am only "tire kicking" untill i could find one to use / borrow in my area.i would be re-building and installing new nozles- lapping the mating surfaces, then matchium up the injectors to within 5 bar / 75 psi.
ok guys shims can be bought in quanities! Thanks to "saurkraut" he found a reputal source for them! the catch is the more we buy the cheaper they are a piece! so saurkraut is going to post the different price ranges after this entry!the 40 piece of each size looks to be the best bargan? or there is the corporate discount range? saurkraut will handel the ordering and i will handel the distrabution of everyones orders! i think some will come mixed up and will need to be measured and sorted? so lets see if this works well and i think we an get other products also? but first the shims! to get at the 40pc.with more people we can even split it to smaller to a 5count per person witch will be around 70bucks per person for 120 shims! we will let this add run for a while? send me a P.M. of your address and phonee# so i have shipping info. on who is ordering! I didn't mike em, and they are back in the engine (hoping to finally turn the key tomorrow!) but they are exactly the right side to go into specific drillings in the housing... in other words, they are an exact fit, so the single spring shim will not work, nor would either of the other two work in a single spring housing.
Do either of the TD injectors have the pin like the TDI one? If not then I don't see where the inner diameter would matter at all, and the outer diameter shouldn't be as critical as the shim can't keep the spring centered.
