Title: Performance Exhaust
Post by: dlorimer on July 16, 2007, 07:45:45 pm
My exhaust pipe is needing replaced.  When I do it, I want to switch to a performance exhaust.  A friend of mine told me a 3" straight pipe would give more power to my 85 VW Diesel Jetta.

Could someone please direct me to where I could get a good performance exhaust, and the approximate price range I am looking at?  Thanks!

I have also been looking for a complete 2.5 to 3" exhaust system too. I found 2.25 exhaust sytem at Autotech (the same one that Blackforrest sells but Autotech will answer your questions). If you find a sytem let me know. I am doing an engine swap on my 86 Golf (NA-Turbo) and need something to conect to my 3" downpipe.

Talk to local muffler shops, they are usually alot cheaper

2 things you gotta consider is that unless its a turbo there isn't that much to gain with that exhaust, and also, it is going to be extremely obnoxious.  my jetta with a 2 1/4 tt exhaust with resonator and muffler were obnoxious

My rabbit n/a sounds fine with the TT 2" and just a dynomax muffler no res.

If it's NA, don't run it straightpipe for the sake of your earing and mental health. If it's TD, enjoy
