Title: Question regarding IP timing
Post by: red64chevelle on June 01, 2007, 08:10:29 am
I have searched, but can't find definitely the correct IP timing. I have a 84 Jetta 1.6TD that I am doing a timing belt, along with everthing else from ball-joints/control arms to motor mounts.

I have read that the timing stock is to be set a 0.75mm.

Being that I am trying to wring every last hp out of the motor, should I set it to 1.0mm? Or is there a better setting to use?

Thanks in advance.

definitely go 1.00mm at least... some say to even go to 1.05mm
