When I bought is 94 golf this sensor was broken off the drivers side of the block. I have no idea what sensor it is anyone know?

if it is on the head then I beleive it is an oil pressure switch. A picture will help

How do you post a pic?[/img]
-
It has to be on the net already. Then click the img button, paste the link, click the img button again.
-
there are services like photobucket and flickr that can help. They will host your picture you give them on the net.

That's the low oil pressure sensor... the blue wire with the black boot that's dangling plugs into it.
Real cheap to replace, even if you have to buy it at a dealer, and the result of low oil pressure can be really expensive !!!

Just to be super clear, there are two oil pressure sensors (that look pretty much the same)... a "high pressure" one on the oil filter flange, and a "low pressure" one on the head.
You want the "low pressure" one. And, they are slightly different depending on if yours is a turbo or not. You want the turbo one.
