Title: Jetta seats.
Post by: fdnyguy on May 17, 2007, 08:01:10 am
Seeing the vast knowledge of VW's on here, does anyone see a problem putting 04 jetta seats in an 89? Have the seats and the tracks, width doesn't seem to be a problem. I only see the possibility that the holes holding the support bolts in wont line up. Obviously not a big deal, right?

Seats have airbags, obviously disconnected. not worried about that.

If I missed anything or am incorrect, advice is of course appreciated.

Thank you, be safe.....

As long as you can still shift and close the doors I'd put them in. I'd imagine it will require a welder

i dont think the tracks are the same mkII to mkIV. mkIV should be wider and different in a few other ways. mkI/mkII swap no problem..

you might be able to switch the bases. I know to go from mk3 to mk2 you can just swtich the bases. But I've never had a mk4 seat apart.
