The 1.6 NA in my Caddy has breathed its last breath. Perfect excuse to swap in a TD motor and clean up that ugly engine compartment.
So, the plan is to put this:

into this:

I'll keep this updated as things move along / when I have questions for those more experienced than me. I've swapped plenty of muscle car V8's, but this will be my first diesel swap. Just finished my brother's Camaro, so now he gets to help with my Caddy...

So, besides changing the timing belt and clutch, and replacing the bent injector lines, is there anything else I should do while the engine is out and easily accessible?

put the right acessory bracket on it. and all the right motor mounts, but i'm sure you figured that one out on your own. it's about the same difficulty as a v8 swap. oh yeah, and it's easier to drop the motor to the floor, then lift the whole car up with the cherry picker, then pull the motor out, put the new motor underneath and drop the car down over top of the new motor, and then lift the new motor into place

Rebuild the injectors

It'll look like this :D :D :D

Yeah, the yellow certainly isn't my choice of colors either, it just happened to be there when I bought it.
I agree, powdercoating is awesome.
