Title: FS: TD pistons (no oversize) and connecting rods, 70$ CAD
Post by: Black Smokin' Diesel on April 21, 2007, 06:11:28 pm
Rods are sold, got three pistons left.

Here is a set of turbo diesel pistons and connecting rods from an early MK2 TD (presumably 86 or 87). They are standard size (76.48mm). TD pistons have an indent in them so they don't come in contact with the oil squirters in the block.

The pistons and connecting rods were cleaned and are in very nice shape. The pistons have some slight pitting  at the bottom of the "butterfly" (see pics). Two of the rods show some surface rust, nothing a bit of scrubbing with scotch bright can't take care of.

The pistons, rods, pins and clips were not mixed and will not be for shipping.

Asking 70$ CAD shipped. Paypal only.

I've got two options for you:

1st is normal shipping, 7 to 8 business days for a total of 70$ CAD (like it's stated in my original post)

2nd is xpresspost, 5 business days for a total of 80$ CAD

Another option is purolator 1 day shipping but it costs 120$ of shipping alone :?

Don't worry I know all about tight funds, I'm a poor student with a rent to pay and a car to fix (needs a TD injection pump most likely). If you want, there's a local junkyard near me with plenty of TD parts. I could get you a good crank for cheap but shipping could be high due to the weight.

if you could get me a price on a td crank shipped you'd be a life saver
and if the price was right id try to talk the wife into getting one of your t3
and just have you ship it all at once ( it would be easier to explain to the wife getting everything from one person to fix my motor than piece together several amounts of money)

thanks
ryan

The TD cranks weights about 35lb. Shipping alone would be 40 to 50$. I could get the crank for about 50$ I think.

The t3s' are practically sold, just awaiting final arrangements.

Shipping will cost you less if you send the crank and the turbo seperatly. Plus large heavy items like that are liable to move around and damage each other in shipping.

I have a T3 for sale as well, feel free to IM me

Well I sold the turbos so you can ask burn_your_money for his. Don't worry he's a great guy to deal with.

I'll call the junkyard and ask them how much they want for a crank. I'll keep you updated

I called the junkyard and they want 70$ for a crank. Pretty high considering you can buy an entire engine for 150$ :?
