Title: intermittent acceleration problems- TD 82 caddy
Post by: floyders on April 16, 2007, 03:31:05 pm
For some reason my caddy just looses acceleration every once in a while.

It usually happens when I am starting from a stop or try to accelerate quickly- but not always. Just really random.

anyhow. I just had my injector pump replaced and it is still happening. It was only happening for about 3 days before i replaced the pump.

I will be pressing the gas pedal when all of a sudden , i can't accelerate even if I push it to the floor. Given a couple of seconds it usually kicks back in.

any ideas??????

Thank you all

Did you do the easy stuff like check the fuel system for restriction such as a blocked filter or water separator or fuel tank pickup screen? Look for air bubbles in the clear fuel line supplying the fuel pump.

Quick accleration requires alot of fuel, I'd look into what Doug suggested
