Title: egr valve question

I am having some blanks made to block the egr valve on my mk3 golf td so i can turn the inlet manifold 'head' around and attach pipes for the intercooler. my question is...there is a thin pipe that attaches to the egr valve (i believe this operates the valve opening/closing), what do i do with this or do i just block this off?
