Title: what engine fits and how easy?

in my mk1 1.6 d.

the existing engine is fine just looking fore a power upgrade

i know the 1.9 td aaz engine fits with no mods and is mechanical so no wiring as such


but what else will fit easily and minimal fuss someone mentioned a tdi but i understand theres a lot off wiring to mess about with

I will have an 1.6 GTD (SB) engine needing a head gasket available soon...

tbh i'd prefere a 1.9 turbo

The gtd has more power and torque than the 1.9td stock, but I agree really, an mtdi is replacing it, i'll be taking a few photos of the conversion throughout
