So i seem to recall there being many different options for a valve cover gasket...
Now the reason i ask is cause mines leaking and so im going to replace it as soon as i can decide on the type of gasket to get.
I cant remember which ones there are so some help would be much appreciated and any thoughts you might have and possible other modifications that might need to be done (if any)
Engine is a 1.6L TD in a 91 jetta.

there was a post somewhere about a site that sells updated rubber re-useable gasket...

1.8 g60 valve cover gasket is a reusable one an fits in it you cars origonal place. The only catch is you will have to remove your valve cover studs and grind of the little shoulders or find some metric bolts that will screw in.

or you can use bolts. Just keep in mind that you are putting the bolt into soft aluminum, it will wear out faster then if you use studs.

thanks guys! rubber it is. and those studs, will i have to modify the shoulders or is that already done with the ones the gasket comes with?

Already done. Or you can knock the metal rings out the the gasket and use your normal shouldered studs

Looking at the two different sets I noticed that the Victor Reinz one had four additional studs that were longer. Whats the difference?

The four longer ones are used for the g60 valve cover.
