today, with nothing better to do, i decided that i no longer wanted the rear muffler on my quantum to exist. so, a trip to auto zone insued, and shortly thereafter i had replaced my heavy, soot-clogged box with a couple shiny new stainless sections of pipe. i started her up, and i must say, i was quite pleased with the result. it has a nice deep tone at low RPMs, but isn't loud and annoying in the uppers and while cruising. here's the funny part: i took it out for a spin after i put it on(no more than 5 miles) and when i got back, i took a peek at the pipes...they already were thickly coated with soot on the inside, and, where the pipe hangs below the bumber slightly, there was a nice soot trail...i love my diesel
