Of course, had you done any exploring, you would have noticed the Classifieds, & perhaps more appropriately, Vendor forums... :?

so $400 for non-turbo and $450 for turbo pump?

Pretty good prices when the local injection shop wants to charge me $750-1,250 to rebuild my old VE pump.

Holy CRAP!! What shop is that?? Giles price is about $825 US Even if it was $100 to ship it would be better then that.

Where in So Cal?

yea... go with Giles super pump... it will be 100 times better than what you can get at that other dudes shop.  Just read all the fantastic reviews!  Dr. Diesel said that the non turbo super pump gave 22hp at the WHEELS!  can this guy do that??  :wink:

a little year ago i did read some guys from TDIclub tried a 12mm plunger on their TDI and they had a failure very quick, alltotugh dont know what brand/factory or so, all i remember is that they camed from china.

some guys claimed the quality from Bosch was much much better.

Just my 2cents, dont wanna do negative about china, but a pump failure leads to a broken cambelt and i dont wanna do that with mine, way to much work. It can make damage on your valves, pistons, and in worste case your gearbox, my friend did with his 1.6td.....
