who can mod a stock 10mm pump with a bigger pump head to make it rev up to 6000 rpm? i got no answers from tdiclub
-
from where are you mate?
just put it in your profile
Greetz, Benjamin
-
im from montreal canada, i dont want to go mechanical and i wanna be able to rev it up to 6000rpm safely for my daily driver. it doesnt mean that i will push it to 6k all the time. but im switching to a wastegated turbo so i would like the extra 1000 rpm :)
-
what model car do you have.
-
2000 golf tdi
-
an 11mm pump might hold 6000rpm, but you won't have any power there.. 5500, might be the max with a ported head and a cam.
and forget a 12mm pump
Marc/
PS: diesel are not made to rev as the gasser do.

i can understand that with a vnt turbo. but im sure i could still build power with the gt20. anyways ill probably drop in a set of cams in.
i dont think anyone in montreal can port the tdi head anywyas. i dont think anyone has done it and they might screw the head more then anything else. i ratter not touch that on a diesel

The limit is not the turbo, but the engine itself and the combustion speed...
I tuned a 2.0 stroked TDI, ported head, oversize valves, modded pistons, we have 230whp/400lbs, peak hp a 3700rpm.

who did the head work?

they shouldnt advertise lsports car as their own project.... thats not really right . i talked to tom (tkracing) and i have ALOT of respect for him. but i dont know if i can trust him with a diesel head. plus toms work is super $$$$ anyways. ill go 2.0 next summer. now isnt really the time.
-
Try Dave @ PP for your headwork
-
i would give it to dave to do. but hes way to far. i cant ship away my head. i dont have a spare one. if he comes to MTL on vacation ill be more then happy

btw, lsports is dead, bankrup. He bought the shell only.
-
actully lsport never field bankrupsy, the man that was funding lsport was a big millionaire. i dont wanna go into details cuz its not any of anyones business and i was told not to discuss it.
that shell was for sale again not to long ago lol

Call him I am sure that he could come up with a core head, to build and then you could swap, or somthing along those lines, I was down in the Lowermainland lastweekend and stoped by his new shop, he had 3 or 4 heads there forsure.
-
first thing first ganna put the car togheter and make it run on the stock block, once thats done ill pull it apart and make it a 2.0 and ill send it out to dave since its ganna be in pieces anywyas.
im get along preatty well with dave :) so lets see what we can work out.
the car is at the body shop getting a fresh paint as we speak. i dont think its worth selling it anymore. since its barely worth 6k on the market. might as well go all out and keep it for a while
-
Yeah I've got a lot of tdi heads here, I don't have very many ready to go rebuild heads though, lots of cores for trying new things...
