Title: Washington, DC area Mechanic needed please.
Post by: subsonic on February 23, 2007, 06:38:18 pm
Group feeler going out.  My sister lives in Washington DC.  She is driving a 1995 vw convertable, 5-speed.  Every year when she comes home for christmas I hook her up with maintenance on her car.  This past christmas I told her she needed a new clutch.  She put it off and had new struts and a exhaust put on instead.  2 months later....I get a call.  " My car is driving funny, the tach keeps going up but the car dosent seem to be going faster.  It smells awful!  Do you think it could be my tie-rod?"   Sisters are great  :!:
Can any one give me a referal to a squared away v-dub shop that can do a clutch job for her?  She told me she asked the dealer and was told "Some where around $800.00"  That seems pretty steep to me.
Thanks for the help.
Jim

At least she knows her car has a tie-rod... that's impressive

HAHAHAHA :!: She absolutly kills me, but I love her.  The female, car mechanical relationship thing is just one of those oddities of nature.  Bonus points to her for throwing out a term that applies to a part that is at least under the hood.  :D
