Title: gas to diesel?? how much work?

I was thinking about buying a 81 rabbit truck with a gaser and swaping itout for a 1.6 diesel, It would seem to me that's it woudln't be much differnt, am i wrong??

It runs on one wire....
With practice, a one day job to have evrything working.

The hardest part would be retrofitting the glowplug wiring, which if you had a donor car would be quite simple

It can be a fairly simple swap,  I am going to do a Gasser A2 Jetta to TDI-M. I could do it simpler but, I have gotten it in my head to swap over just about every O.E.M. diesel specific part I can including the wiring harness but, the car has a history with me so I wanna do it special.

It can be done very simplly with a 1.6 IDI in an A1 though and pretty quickly.
