hello all,
i have a 10mm ip, diesel inside chip and veg205 nozzles.
i rescently drove a manual tdi that was not chipped but had the Basio sprint 205. the engine felt stonger than mine with the chip. so now i want to change to the Basio PP764 (216).
now there are nozzles that have the same size and others that are performance rated with more power or something!!
so now i have a choice,
Dipaco nozzles that are affordable.
Basio nozzles that are very expensive but have a strong reputation
Smog 216 but i do not know if they are VEG 216?
i do not plan on changing my IP but someday when my turbo goes i will change it for the the vnt-17 and i do not want to change nozzles.
can i have some feedback please.

I had a set of cheap .216 injectors in my 2003 from www.tdiracing.com and I gave those away because they were very smokey. on my Corrado I just bought a set of PP520s from Kerma and they are less smokey then the .216s and just as powerful if not more powerful.

The tdi also probably had an 11mm pump head.

actually my modification plans just changed.
i will be adding an 11mm head , Caddy .240mm nozzles or pp520 (depends how bad per power they each smokes), ARP headstuds. i will still be using the stock smic and i wonder if there will be smokey difference if swaped for fmic? not to mention i will be adding an external lift pump.
i was told i will be hitting close to the 280lb of torque, this is a concern because its my wife daily driver so i want to keep acceptable mpg numbers.
any feedback please

With all these fueling upgrades you can get your chip updated for little or no smoke.
During your chip update you can also ask to keep your torque peak controlled for drivetrain reliability. For example, limit the torque peak to approximately 240wtq, and that won't affect high-RPM horsepower.
280 wheel torque is unlikely reliable for the stock VNT-15 turbo anyway.

what kind of hp would i be looking at?

125 to 135whp, depending on the dyno. A 130whp car can be exaggerated to 150whp on the right dyno (e.g. with 17% "correction factor").

do u guys think driveshaft axels should be upgraded as well?
are the 1.8T driveshafts the same as the vr6 version?
what other tuning can be done to minimize the smoke?

I don't think your drive shafts need to be upgraded... what clutch do you have?
