Title: Exhaust Q??
Post by: g-spec on February 05, 2007, 07:54:27 pm: Just wanted to know what the diamete of the stock exhaust is....the reason being is on my sisters golf the weld right after the cat broke...so i was thinking about replacing the cat with a straight pipe....
Im not gonna do a whole exhaust on it since its not my car.....
I dont have access to a garage as my diesel is in there...

Post by: jtanguay on February 05, 2007, 08:20:48 pm: well since ur from ontario, the car will need the cat to pass the emissions test. it would be a good solution in the interim until you can find a good used one and nicer weather to install it correctly :)

lmao southerners!!!

thats crazy!!! we've gotta go through the drive clean program every 2 years. and those lame shops are making a killing from it. i still remember a shop that was going out of business, and once it started doing e-testing, the owner started driving a high end BMW... :lol: just a cash grab if you ask me.

Post by: jtanguay on February 06, 2007, 11:23:26 am: true its just a visual inspection for diesels... but if their system says that you have a CAT then they will inspect for it... if its missing then they will send you away. i was sent away when my gasser golf was leaking a bit of oil.... had to fix the HG!
