I'm gonna go boosted some time but i figure i'll look for the right turbo/turbos while i'm at it. I have an uncle with a turbo engine and an 83 jetta rotting away both have the T3 i'm sure. And i can't get him to sell them but that won't stop my QUEST TO FIND THE HOLY GRAIL! BOOST! One day i will have a boosted Bunny wabbit. Sorry i'm just rambling on.
-
soon a k25/k26 hybrid.
-
Now your really gonna confus me. K25?
-
OOPS! sorry man i hit 5 instead of 4.
-
Hey thats fine just tryin to memorize all the different ones and where they come from. So what parts are you gonna use from each one? and your push 27psi from your k24?
-
ya i have a stock k24 on my jetta pushing 27 psi by itself. For the hybrid here is a link to clear things up

Slave2School all VW diesels are welcome in my poll.
Bert do you have more pics of your rabbit? It looks very nice.
-
thanks :) more pics at picturetrail.com/slave2school
-
Slave2School I'm interested in the intake you have in your pics. It is obviously a gasser intake any details on it?
-
Actually that was the non-turbo AAZ manifold from Europe. Right now RabbitGTDGuy has it since it won't fit properly in a mk IV unless I remove a chunk of the rain tray. :(
-
I currently run a kkk24, but have a T3 in the basment, I have run both, but when it is time to change the turbo, I will run a GT-20. It spools quicker then the kkk24 or T3 and flows more air. Great all around street turbo.
If I was looking to go for big power on a single turbo I would either run a GT-22 or GT-25R(ball bearing, water cooled, race only. Too much surge and too late of spool for the street)
T3's and kkk24's and there hybrids are outdated turbo's and unless you are on a really tight budget, and even then, save a little more and get a new turbo, as there have been big advance's in turbo technology since these turbo's were released.
-
I was running a kkk14 which got some damage during my accident. So I ended up getting a vnt 15 to replace it. I haven't run it yet thoough as the engine is still apart. I want a faster spooling turbo as opposed to one that makes a ton of boost as I off-road with it and throttle response is of paramount importance. (in a Land Rover)

Slave2School : Will it fit in a mk1? and is there any noticable difference from the little TD manifolds? GT-20 huh well i'll deffently look in to that one.
-
Well I'm not sure what the difference would be, it is supposed to be able to produce a bit more power ~5% more over a stock intake manifold on a highly modded car. So 5-10hp max, but I wouldn't believe it till I saw it with my own eyes :)
I think it'll fit a mk1 since that is what mr Rabbit has :)

That thing is clean holy cow.

(nods)
How the hey was it kept so mint? Beautiful....
-
HOLY &*^%
-
this might sound dumb, but can the tdi turbo's be ran on the 1.6d? i know that the turbine side is combined with the manifold. i'm just curious if the ports or the bolt holes are even close. i know where i can probably get one so i thought it would be pretty simple if it worked.
-
yes it can be done, i know a guy that put a vnt on one, he just didn't do the vnt controller right lol.

it's a 94
-
but its over 10 yrs old there isnt to many 3 yr old cars that look like that. What are those things worth?5k?
-
its amazing. parts aren't even that clean when you get them from the parts store!!
-
All my turbos were free or came with the car. So saving a bit more and buying a fancy one isnt cost effective.
Balancing the shaft of the K26/k24 and a kit from here is cheaper then a whole turbo.
Yes Im cheap.
-
i got a price quote for 40 bucks to balance my turbo. I though that is very fair so i would only have like 140 bucks in my hybrids setup (k24/k26)
-
bert both of those are beautiful. I'm loving the SA Mk1, are they still making them?
I'm running a K14 btw, as stock as you can get on an SB, but quite punchy.
-
Alright tom,yes there still being made, look at vw south africa at them, good pics on the site, thanks for the comment by the way 8-)
