If the fuel lines are empty try sucking up some fuel from the tank with a suction gun, or some other vacuum device and get some fuel running through the pump.  If it ran fine before, a seal is probably leaking bad, and the pump lost its prime, its happened to me before.

stupid me but just to make sure is the injector pump the only pump. meaning there is not an inline or a pump in tank?

also, the fuel shut off solinoid i have read it could stop fuel from reaching the injectors but would it stop the fuel line system from flowing?

The injection pump is the only pump in the car, and sometimes your solenoid can go bad, and it will stop the fuel from flowing.

apparently you can take the plunger out of the solinoid to allow flow? i might try that. thanks for the input. these vehicles only have one fuel filter ( i hope) that is under the hood.

things to check 1 the check valve in line by the passenger tire near the water seperator, this is where mine was stopping the fuel, after I replaced it the car runs better than before. that said i tested the valve and it takes about 30 psi air to open the valve. the new one took .5 psi. a small differance don't you think ?

thanks for the help. turns out the fuel filter was leaking! the o ring on the returm line?? the dealer gave me the clue and i replaced the filter and it seems all good. the true test will be letting the car sit for couple days this weekend to see if it stays primed. thanks for the replies

Where do you live? How cold is it? Maybe your filter gelled solid, or you had water in it and it froze up.

yeah that's about normal temps :(

Definitely cold enough to freeze the fuel filter
