Post by: bustedfoxwagen on January 21, 2007, 09:07:49 pm
ok put in my gtd nozels, and turned up the boost and fuel, now the clutch starts to slip about 3000rpm (20psi) and then goes to 23psi and the tach shoots up then the clutch grabs again and boost and rpm's go down

anyways i need a decent "performance" clutch i guess, thanks guys, im was told on vortex that some one up here has a very nice clutch kit for 160. good pp and a 4 or 6 puck clutch

FWIW, on my "other" rabbit (gasser GTI autox car), I went with a six-puck clutch disk sourced from BSI Racing.  When I got it, it was in a Kennedy Engineering Products box, so I suppose they're the ones making them.

The disk I have is some sort of kelated copper ceramic material that's really tough.  It took some getting used to / bedding in, but it's been great.  It's definitely more on/off than the stock setup, but combined with a 16V pressure plate, I haven't had any problems with it in 5 years of hard race abuse.

I went with the six-puck over the four puck because Stu at BSI said that the 4 puck was less brutal / easier to drive for street use than the 4 puck.  Not sure... I've never had one.
