Title: How much power with your 1.9 TD ??

Hi everybody. I'm will probably swap a 1.9 TD in my mk2 jetta (1.6 TD). And i wanted to know how much power you can get with a very godd setup. As anybody put is car on a Dyno. If so, can i know what results you got, and with what modification.

I have put a 1.9 TD AAZ into a mk1 golf,fitted the 1.6 TD garrett T3 turbo,altered the aneroid pin,used a 2.5 inch stainless exhaust with 1 silencer at the rear,AND IT ABSOLUTLEY FLIES,im welll happy with it,no smoke under full load,and its currently got no intercooler,im having it dyno tested in the spring when i dig it out to play,will post results.

planning quite the same setup in my audi 80, at which rpm does the turbo make "usable" boost?

i was planning on upgrading to a t3 also... what is the spec for the T3 turbo?

Hi,the boost comes in at about 2400 rpm,and its like a different car,the acceleration in 5th is amazing,its as strong in 3rd,im really impressed with it,im hoping an intercooler will help more,TBA.............

its a garrett T3 off a mk2 golf 1.6 TD it boosts about 2400 rpm,and its good fun  :wink:

thats the same turbo i have!!?!?! i knw mines a garrett, but is its a T3?  what was stock on a 1.6LTD?

that is the identical that came on the older mk2 vw later on for some reason the changed to k24.yes your is a T3

Because, i will do a complete rebuilt. Everything in the motor will be rebuilt. I wanted to know if the block is big enough to go get more than 1.9L. I also wanted to know if there were performance camshafts that I could buy ?? I was thinking of putting my k24, were there be a better turbo. I konw that people send there pump to Giles to get it upgraded but, was does he do to it exacly (governor mod, bigger head, custom boost pin,change the seals...). But first i need to find a motor. If any body as one for sale in quebec or ontario, give me a sign please.

1993 1.9td.  2.5" exhaust, no cat, no muffler, no suitcase, boost up to 20, tdi intercooler, stock turbo, k&n panel filter.


the 2 higher results were with higher boost settings, egt's were too high though, the lower one is my daily.
