Mine has 362,000 kms. One of my co-workers has over 650,000 on one that has never had the motor apart.
-
Whats the conversion from miles to KMs?
-
Daily driver Golf 1.6L NA - 350,000.Only a head gasket and glow plugs done.
Dodge Ram Cummins Turbo diesel - 510,000.Never really been touched, except turning up the power.
Ford F250 6.9L diesel - 450,000.One injection pump replaced,lift pump done.
I also have a few other VW diesels with around 400,000 on them.

Daily driver 1985 Jetta 1.6l TD 5m
The clock reads 150k miles, but it only works about 1/3 of the time... Need to get thtat fixed one of these days. Just had it rebuilt about 10k miles ago, and she is running very strong. Parked it outside for 3 days in temps hovering at or below zero without a block heater. After one round of glow plugs, she fired up on the first try. Needless to say i had a huge grin!!

1 mile = 1.609344 km.

I've put 31,000 Miles on my GTD in 12 months! :) Trouble free until 4 weeks ago!
-
Oops...I voted before I read the post.
My 91 Cherokee has 240000+ miles on it. Its my Daily Driver.
that equates to about 396000Km
-

722,000 kms so far but it's on it's 3rd engine and 2nd transmission. Bought it 10 years ago for $400 with a mere 360,000 kms on it.

aw that doesn't count  maybe if i was the same rebuilt motor... :)
still though how's the body? usually lots of things start going after that many km's and years... can't be the original suspension!
-
4 vehicles in the driveway right now:
Daily Driver is '91 Jetta TD with 422,000 km, Engine never apart. Its been VERY good to me. I put 70,000+ per year on it 3 years in a row.
If pending sale on Jetta goes through, as of tomorrow my daily will be '97 Passat TDI with 299,000 KM, top end and IP done recently by PO.
My prior daily and current weekend kid hualler is '95 chev G20 van with 515,000km, engine never apart exept for intake manifold gasket replacment 5 or so years back.
Wifes car is '01 Venture with something like 70,000k on it. I only know how to change the oil on that one ;)
1.3 million km of motoring!

Well, the body stayed pretty good. I did replace both floor pans from front to back a couple summers ago. Aside from the body, I think the only original parts left on it are the glass (except for the windshield) and the rear axle. Lol. I kept the original engine and tranny to rebuild for that "numbers matching" restoration when it hits 1,000,000. Lol.

hehe smart man...
i've always heard stories of guys walking into VW with original maintenance receipts with 1'000'000 on the clock and getting a brand new car for free... '07 Jetta with a PD engine please! leather package.. and um...

I know someone who actually got to a million kms on his 93 Golf TD. Actually he got to 950000 the crank bolt loosened off and I dont need to say anymore than that. But after a few valves and a set of guides and lifters he was back on the road again. Thats the only inside work ever done on the engine and he has owned it since new. VW is giving him a ceremony and certificate but thats it. And he lives in Fort Francis too!!

My 97 Jetta is going to turn over 288 000kms on the way home from work today.
-
Couple years ago a local taxi driver got up to 600,000 or so on one of the first Hybrid Toyotas. Toyota swapped him for a new one and sent the old one back to Japan to disect.
Some Greek taxi drive had 3.4 million on a Mercedes 240d, and Mercedes swaped him for a new diesel, put the 240d in a museum.
I haven't heard of VW doing same.
-
Nice to see all these high numbers, It should help sell my parents on a diesel :D
I'm at 441xxx kms. I've owned it for 20 000 and the only trouble it's given me is the coolant pipe rotted out yesterday on the way to work
-
my dd passat has 495k but im afraid to start it after this http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=6415

hi,
'88 Audi80 1,6 TD/ic RA-engine. 395.000km, first turbo, bottom-end and head
the engine is worn out, compression has a difference of 40% from best to badest cylinder, but ist still works...
building a new engine:
AAZ with 1Z bottom end, 1,9NA intake manifold, golf5 FMIC,
T3 turbo, 2,5" or 3" exaust. 10 or 11mm pump, tdi transmission.
aiming for 140-150HP for daily use ;)
powered by SVO or WVO.
greets, michael

Mine's fast approaching 160,000 miles (257,500km). The engine & turbo are still original but the gearbox has been replaced with one of unkown mileage (but thought to be about 90,000 miles).
There was a courier driver in the UK in a 1.6 non-turbo that covered 1 million miles. IIRC the oil was changed every 4000 miles.
-
426 000 km's, or there abouts on it's original engine.
'89 1.6D Caddy, and it gets thrashed everywhere!
-
I'm about ready to hit 140,000 klms on my '82 Diesel.. Head gasket and glow plugs is all that I have done to the engine.... I'm still running the original ball joint on the right side... I got one in the glove box just incase...

Hi the frankenbunny curently has about 260000 miles. I'vs got a 100+ miles commute 5-6 days a wk from valley of the moon to treasure island. some times thru marin and san fran-( refered to as "never-never land" and "fairyland") and sometimes thru richmond and oakland (refered to as " the shooting gallery" or " beirut"( the cops probaly call it "bagdad" now  ) and "africa" ) so you can see that I've got the longest commute of anybody on this board !! same engine and tranny. :D
-
My 97 has 6200 on it... maybe that's 300k short I don't know.
Oh ya, and how's it treating me... great considering that I beat it like it's stolen, and rarely change the oil...
-
My Jetta has 446,830 miles or 719,103 km. On I think the second engine. I think the previous owner poorly rebuilt the orginal engine, then I transported a diesel engine out of a Rabbit I wrecked. That engine has about 230,000 miles or 370,149 km. Runs good. I am not getting that great of mileage. Only 33 mpg or 53 km per US gallon. But this is with 90% city driving.

Where in Missouri are ya??
