Post by: burn_your_money on January 08, 2007, 08:34:43 am: I just bought a 87 TD jetta coupe and I'm parting out the engine. The guy didn't know a whole lot about diesels and it ran away on him and he just let it go. :( It still turns over though. There is oil in the coolant reservoir and coolant in the oil. The head gasket looks like it exploded. The car has 260k kms on it. I did see this car driving around town so I know that it did work. He did mention that he did have problems starting it in the winter. The IP doesn't appear to be leaking. It has a KKK turbo. I'm open to offers on everything. I will be removing the head and checking to see if it survived, although I have my doubts. The t-belt is still intact

As for the shell, I'm putting a 1.9TD into it and selling it most likely but haven't fully decided

and do you know if it would work on a 1.9TD with a T3???

Post by: burn_your_money on January 08, 2007, 02:23:10 pm: Yes this is a 100% complete car so I do have both lines. I don't know if it would fit or not. I have a K14 from a mk3 upstairs. I could see if it has the same threads, although I'd imagine T3 and K14 would be different?
