yep, you should try something like i saw done on a 2.0 aba, he flipped the factory manifold upside down, then he made an adapter for the turbo

was the saab diesel powered?  if its a gasser turbo, then dont use it on a diesel.  gasser turbo's are good for making power way up top, but not down low where a diesel needs it.
