There's a guy fairly local to me selling a T4 turbo (cold side a/r.60 exhaust side a/r 1.00), 3" V-band exhaust outlet, oil cooled and brand new for $250 CAD. I have no idea what brand it is unfortunately.
First is it a good price? What would it normaly sell for?
Would it be good for a tuned 1.6TD (Giles pump, big downpipe, straight exhaust, GTD injectors, intercooler...)?

If you can use it...make sure it's not one of those cheap ebay ones like xspower....i heard they use glue to attach the intake housing on the turbo!!! :?:

thats an insane turbo man... 0.60 compressor and 1.00 exhaust a/r... that seems way too high to be useful in a 1.6TD... even with insane fueling you might only spool it at around 3500... lol and once its spooling it would probably put out around 30-40 psi on a dinky little motor hehehe!

i got a kkk K27 from a Volvo truck V10. (i think its similar, not?)
should it ever spool, maybe for a twin turbo set up or something?

That's what I'm affraid of. I saw the pics but the brand name was grinded off the housing :?

it's hard to say but there is a very good chance that it's an ebay turbo, as alot of them have no branding on them. either way i wouldn't feel bad running one for that price if it blows who cares haha.

you are NEVER going to spool that thing in a usable manner unless you can somehow get ur diesel to rev to 7k....
maybe MAYBE .82ar but that is even out of the question
IF you have a stock head I wouldn't run much larger than a .63ar

Now that's the kind of info I need! Thanks. I think I'll keep my 250$ then and rebuild my K24. Anyone got a good compressor wheel for sale  :P

Don't go over a .48 T3 on a stock 1.6head, a .63 will need tubular manifolds, lots of porting and a crap load of fuel. A t4 has a giant wheel and an AR of 1.00 is much too huge to be used for a single stage or twin stage turbine on a 1.6td. Money better spent on your k24.

What about a T3/T4 hybrid?
