Title: 84 quantum temp
Post by: 84Q on December 04, 2006, 05:31:28 pm
I have an 84 q and was wondering if the temps(coolant) I was running were normal. My guage has a little red light in the middle of it. On the highway, the top of my needle is on the bottom of the light, in stop-and-go the needle will creep up over the light.
Thanks

sounds normal, the lights about in the middle right?  my jetta is usually doing about the same thing as yours, for some reason though my rabbit has very cool coolant temps, i think someone may have the wrong thermostat in it or something

either wrong thermostat, or it just needs to be changed.  i am very happy that i changed to vw oem thermostat...  the temp never leaves half way on the gauge.  NEVER!  it could be the coldest day, driving 100km/h or even 80km/h and have the heater on full.... lol  really really love the thermostat!
