Title: turbocharging a 5 cyl. diesel T4
Post by: seb329 on October 27, 2004, 12:35:30 pm
Hello everybody, I am new to this forum and really glad I found this. I would like to know if anybody has information about turbocharging a n/a 2.4 l 5cyl diesel engine . I own a 1997 vw transporter and living in Alberta, Canada, my driving is usually from 4000 to 7000 feet above sealevel so it is quite anemic going trough mountain passes. I would like to get 90 to 100 hp out of this engine, but I dont know what size of turbo to install on it or what other mods I need to do to keep reliable. Any info would be really appreciated.

seb329, check out this thread (http://www.vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=556), where turbocharging a 1.6l NA VW diesel engine is thoroughly discussed. Virtually everything discussed there applies to your engine.

Go for it!  :D
