I bught a injection pump for my Golf 1,9TD -96 this summer.
I haven got i working good on my car så we tried it om a friends skoda pick up. its almost the same enigen. the result is god and bad.
we estimate the power to be over 200hp now. and its spining the weils on 1,2,3,4 gear. We dident try the fift.
The bad news is that the enigen brooke down. after about 15 minutes of fu diriving.(not extremly hard) the enigen justa sad STOP. Now we kant move it att all.
Tha boost is about 3-3,5 bar. and the pump is not at its max.
Its sad Vw dident make a better enigen. :) we have 3 new eningens coming in to day so we are going to tear the old one down next week and build a new one.

What turbo did you use? What did break? Connecting rod? Overheating?

the turbo is from a volvo D5. i dont know wath is broken yet but iil find out next week.

overheating. just o litle. iil give you more info next week. at leask the pump is working...

You ran 5 times the max boost of the stock motor and tripled the hp and it broke. Hmmm, yeah it's too bad VW didn't think of preventing that. :P

I can't say it
but those are some impressive numbers for such a short run. I'd like to hear some more once the new engines arrive.

just a smallone. aparently it was a..... that broke i dont know wath its called. it makes the lowest axel in the enigen glide. the axel is the one were the pistons is attaced.
anybody know?

are you talking about the crank? a crank bearing failed?? thats all i can think of:
piston is attached to it - piston is connected to the con bone, con bone connected to the... crank bone... :lol:
makes the lowest axle in the engine glide - sounds to me like a bearing, and by axle, i take it you mean something that turns 360. could there be anything else? :wink:

its the crank bearings that faild. were can i find new ones that is bether then the original?

Better crankshaft main bearings are not available.
The connecting rod bearings from a ASZ (130hp) will fit and are made with a different process and should be better. The shells marked "sputter" should be installed on the top (piston side) of the rod.

Wait, I still want to hear about how you got 50psi into an AAZ ( or whatever engine it was)? What injection pump was being used? What turbo? Spinning in 4th?

Its an AAZ 1,9 enigen. the pump is a modified original pump. the "LDA"(I think its called) is modified, 12mm pump head from a VW T4(injector head), the turbo is a schwitzer S1BG(the largest of 3 sizes)

I just rechecked and there might be an error in the old catalog. The new catalog shows the the ASZ the ARL (130 and 150hp) TDI's as having larger bearings. These won't fit your engine.
The older rotary pump 110hp engines have the "sputter" bearing and a "normal" (not a sintered metal, cracked cap) connecting rod. The engine code for that engine is AHF, those bearings should fit properly and stand up better under hard use.
