How's it going? I've recently acquired an A3 TDI swap for my caddy and I would like to convert it to non-ac and manual steering. Has anyone ever run into this and know of a parts list that they can share? I work for a dealership so I have ETKA at my figure tips all day long but I just can't figure out which pulley's and belts and so on to go with. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

i recently did an AAZ 1.9L TD. remove the A/C compressor. change the waterpump pulley to a late A3 ABA type and use a 410k6 belt.
make sure the tensioner rod is still tight in the aluminum bracket, and not wearing it's hole oval.

thanks, so you're saying that the AAZ and TDI setups are the same? If so that sounds good, what about the power steering?

nope. just saying that it was very easy on an AAZ. tdi's, at least later versions, use T-belt driven water pumps. In your case, you'd probably get away with simply measuring the length of belt required with a piece of string (minus A/C compressor, of course) and get the proper belt from the local parts store. I'd guess it would probably work no problem.

yup, you were exactly right, I found out through another forum earlier today that thats all you need to do. The part #'s for future reference are -
028121031K
028903137BB
that gives you the correct pulley and belt for the job. The only part I'm not sure of would be the Vbelt for the power steering pump but in my case I really don't need it, should be easy enough to find out though.....thanks again Dr Diesel..
