Title: Low compression - What to do?
Post by: klr650@ on October 22, 2006, 09:08:38 pm
I've got a longblock that has low compression. Any suggestions on what the potential problem could be? Unfortuantely, to keep my project moving I sent all my components to be installed on a new rebuilt engine. So I'm not sure what tests I can run any tests.

Do you have the injection pump still? If you have the timing belt installed I'm pretty sure you can do all the checks you need to to figure it out

make sure you have the right size for compression test unit, lot's on ebay and  once you pull the injectors out,  you need to replace the heat shields....

disconnect the GP harness, and Fuel shut off solenoid (  hard to start when the motor is running purley of compression) and crank the motor
