Title: No more int wipers?
Post by: A Guy on October 19, 2006, 08:31:31 am
Anybody lost the use of the int. wipper option on an A3 golf?  Is it a contact issue?  Specific part etc?  It's a PITA with this Oct. rain.  I miss them.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Mine did that. I complained about it for 2 years, then the local vw shop gave me a good used relay. Gawd love them!

That's it eh?
I only have the bentley for my old MK2 is the relay located in the same place on the A3?  I have some relays hidden away with some light bulbs I can't find.  Do you remeber the the model# of relay it is?  Hopefully I'll swap them tonight and all will be good.
TIA
Out.

I don't remember offhand. If someoen else doesn't chime in, I'll take some time this weekend and pull relays until the intermitant wipers stop working. Heck, maybe i'll find out I have a bad intermittanmt speedometer relay... that sure would explain a lot!

You get that oil pan yet?

I've also been ***ing about no int. wiper for the last couple years. It really seems like a problem at the colum... I also have no wiper when I hit the spray; gotta pull and lift. I would never have guessed a relay.

It  could also be the unit,  I remember having an ok unit on my MK2  Jetta 92 and  after chaning the relay from 2 other cars,  I decided to change the unit for a slightly older one and the intermitted function worked.
