Title: Fuse 1 blowing

Hi.  I have a short somewhere in my car (86 Golf 1.6NA) that is blowing fuse 1.  I have the Bentley manual and will troubleshoot it this weekend, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to potential trouble spots to look at?  I was driving down the road, went through a large pothole, and right as I slammed through it, the fuse blew.  It has a dead short now, so I suspect a wire that may have rubbed through the insulation is now creating a dead short.  Clock, dome light and radio don't work. Radio is PO install with who knows what wiring setup.
