I'm not sure how to type in a whistling sound, but that's what I'm doing. Looks VERY good. It must have taken some time to round up that TD steering wheel and grill badge. Nice job!
-
I love the look of a clean MK1 engine bay!
-
:D X10 is probably what it drives like eh?
-
nice work. better than new.
-
Im booking my ticket now to steal your grill and take your steering wheel.
Dont worry...Ill leave a spare side window. :D
Looks great.
-
haha you probably won't get the wheel that thing will be on my car before you even unlock the door to your car to leave for him
-
Good you are closer. Ill just wait.
PA is alot closer then the UK anyhow.
Ill toss a pipe wrench in the seat so you can still get to work.
I also park my Jeep inside..so its never locked. :D

Looks very nice!
Any gochas or things to watch out for with this swap?
I am slowly working on a similiar project.

THANKS lads for the comments, the swap was quite easy really,im a mechanic so its not too bad for me to do  the fuel pump was new 8 months ago at £1000 fitted, the engine was a vw exchange and its got the tdi crank in it,so i was really lucky, the clutch was 2 months old,the golf cost me £300 off ebay as a mot fail 8) so the cost is not too bad.I have put the mk3 5 speed box in so fingers crossed it will be geared ok :?: i have not drove it yet as ive only got the downpipe on.I will let you know how it goes.
The steering wheel center bit is rarer than rocking horse poo, that cost me 75 euros from the south of france, and the grill badge was £10 off ebay.
I might go intercooled????

Hi guys,i have drove the TD now properly,i must say it pulls as well in 5th gear as it does in 3rd,im going to put a boost guage on it to see how many psi i am getting, also there is no visible smoke when i floor it,i have only touched the aneroid pin to allow more fuel under boost, everything else is stock, and i am very pleased with the results.Just thought i would let you know.
Cheers for all your help

That looks sweet, a very nice install. If I ever get my Mk2 working properly, perhaps I'll see you at a Dub meet next year.... Edition 38?
Cheers,
Tom

It's currently experiencing gearbox trouble (again) . I'm not sure whether to replace it in its entirity or get it repaired. It also needs the rear panel replacing and a few other bits.
I've not got into the show scene with this one yet (as I only got it in May and it needed a LOT doing) but I was there last year with my Corrado, and know a few guys from that forum.
Sorry for the O/T thread hijack!
Cheers,
Tom
