Title: for sale: 1978 Mercedes 300D *video added*
Post by: Dr. Diesel on September 22, 2006, 07:50:47 pm
Nice car, lotsa options, almost all of them work except A/C and power antenna.
starts/runs/drives well, needs the front rotors machined.
Silver, auto, non turbo 3L 5 cyl., chrome OE rims.
Mid 200,000km. right front fender a little rusty along the top, solid otherwise.

$1500 obo.

Looks almost exactly like this, but silver:

for those who may not realize, here's a sample of what you can do with 3L of german diesel power!

That video makes me sick.  I've always wanted one.  No cash right now.

Is that video really of a 300d or a td?

definitely a TD. basically same engine, but turbocharged. you can find 'em in junkyards for around $300. They stop running because people don't adjust the valves regularly.

My parents are thinking about it... don't expect anything though, they've thought about 50 cars since they started looking.

How come in the ad title you have turbodiesel?

it was originally H1 foglights, but has been since converted to sealed beam high beams. (like the inners on early sciroccos)

turbodiesel?
are you mistaking my reply that the car in the video must be a TD with claiming that my n/a car is TD?

title of the ebay listing says "Mercedes Benz 300D diesel 300 turbodiesel w123 driver"  might want to check it.
