Post by: snakemaster on September 19, 2006, 03:16:20 pm
i was thinking of making a injector tester ie what thay pop at , and was thinking of making one out of a brake master cilinder bolted to a bit of steel with a bar as a lever but not shure if it will make the psi , what do you think?

A master cylinder will make plenty of pressure, but you will need a sturdy mount and lever for it to be able to generate enough pressure as the master has a fairly large piston.

The much smaller piston in a bottle jack will develop the pressure more easily.

There are a few threads on here on homemade pop testers, mostly using bottle jacks.

I was thinking about this too... but would have to test them using brake fluid because using diesel fuel would destroy the seals.
