Title: Oil leaking from my boost controller, HELP!
Post by: zagarus on September 14, 2006, 10:19:43 pm
ok so i've noticed that my boost controller is covered in a fine layer of oil. Now i know this is coming from the boost controller which is in the line circled below

Now i'm asking this now cause i realized that this is a loading air line and therefore should not have oil in it correct?

Just wanted to ask, why the hell is there oil seeping out my boost controller?!!!

Its probably blowby.  The turbo will always have some oily air in it, lots if your motor is older and driven hard.  The boost controller will work by bleeding some air out, with the air comes some oil.

I have heard of people seeing oil all the way up to their boost gauge, which doesnt vent any air, so that is just oil mixing as the air flows back and forth.

the good news is your boost controller wont get rusty!
