Title: What exhaust size and brand for 1.6TD

Just looking at exhaust options for my 1991 jetta TD 1.6. I like magnaflow. I dont want it to be too loud. just a bit throaty when you step on it. And what size should I run? 2.25?

I just changed the exhaust on my golf 1.6td. Changed everything exept the downpipe (yeah, I am lazy ;) ).
With no muffler/silenecer.
I used a 2" pipe's with one 30degree bend.

Its not loud on freeways, but when you floor it you get a louder/sweeter sound.

Could take some pictures of you like.

I belive 2.5" is just loud...

I put the 2.5 inch downpipe and 2.5 inch pipe out the back you don't need a muffler at all these td cars are not loud. I would save the muffler cash for another mod.

I just put the PP downpipe and a full 2.25" Magnaflow on my Caddy. Ilove it. Great sound and a nice increase in performance.
