Title: hard to start
Post by: envy on September 08, 2006, 06:38:29 am
TDI PD 115HP + chip (AJM)

It is very hard to start it, I have to start for some 10 sec!

when it's started, there is much of white smoke! and it's only after the night!

engine is powerful, fuel consumption low, antifreez and oil is on its level all the time!

only, probz is that when fuel tank is empty (less than half), when I turn the key, there is some air going some where in the fueling system!  :?

some Ideas???

Check for a loose or cracked injector line.

Sorry, my bad. You've got soft lines running right up to the injectors that go into the head, yes?

I'm thinking maybe check your glow plug relay. I had a problem one time where the plugs only worked when the key was in the "Start" position. They wouldn't glow at all when it was in the "on" position, and they should.

You don't have a "Check Engine Light" on?

yeah, there are soft lines!  and check engine light is of!

In these engines (unit injector) glow plugs turn on only when the air temperature is lower than 9'C!

I have checked them by VAG-COM, and there is no mistakes!

May be it the end of engine?! but the compression is still 25, 25, 30, 25 BAR!  :)

total misanderstunding! is there anyone smart of these PD engines???

may something wrong with timing???
