Title: Clutch/Transmission Identification
Post by: ibmserf on September 06, 2006, 04:37:55 pm
Hi Guys,
Is there an easy way to tell what year my clutch would be (97/93 Jetta 1.9L TD)?  I know the engine is 93, but I think the rest (or most of it) of the car is a 97.  Is there a code somewhere?
Thanks!

Get under the car and have a look at the flat spot on the underside of the tranny (should be on the bellhousing). Write down what you have and post it here. I can check as to what it is and what it's supposed to be.

From what I can tell, there is only one code on the bottom of the tranny.  The code is:  DFP 28077
                    8
Hopefully you can cross-ref this.
Thanks for your help!
