Can anyone list the options for turbo replacement on the 1.9 TD AAZ engine? I currently have the stock KKK-K14 turbo and I am wondering if there is a direct bolt in replacement. I know the 1.6 TD used the K24, and it is a better choice, but I am not sure what is involved in making it fit. I would really like to get the power to match my TDI. I even have a CTN tranny with 27,000 km's ready to swap in. My engine has 350,000 km's of highway driving, so I thought it would be nice to freshen it up and crank up the power. Any other ideas would be welcome. Thanks

If you just want to match the power of your TDI the K14 is perfect. You can easily make 100hp with it.
If you want to go further the K24 or the T3 will both bolt on to your stock K14 manifold. You may need to cut a small piece of aluminum off the intake manifold to provide clearance for the compressor housing and the intake hose may need to be modified. I believe the K14 downpipe will bolt up.

Hi,i have easily bolted a garrett t3 off a golf 1.6TD to my aaz engine,it is an easy swap, had to hacksaw the alloy piece off the inlet manifold like quick td says, the oil return pipe off the turbo needs to be cut and welded to the aaz return pipe, bit of welding, the inlet air pipe off the 1.6 will be needed as will the boost pipe off the turbo to the manifold as they have a bigger bore!
I am looking foward to trying the engine out when its fitted to the mk1 golf i have  these geezers on here have been no end of help to me,as i never used to get involved with turbos and tuning
