Post by: RabbitJockey on August 22, 2006, 07:40:26 pm
i'd like to purchase a g-tech dyno, but i'm not sure what model and stuff i should get and what the best source is, ebay seems cheap, but i dunno.  i'd like to be able to see power curves and quartermile times and stuff.  and also be able to load this info on my computer, thanks for any help gents

i got the '94 model, its good for 0-60mph quarter mile,
its my understanding the new models can give you a horsepower line on the computer.
my Gtech can give the peak of the hp, but i never used it.

yeah i'm currently borrowing a gtech pro like you have, it is very nice for quarter mile runs and stuff, i really need to weigh my car so that i can see peak hp, but i am definetly considering purchasing a gtech rr so that i can load my dyno runs onto the computer

If you want to save some money the older GTech Competition (with blue backlit screen) might be fine - I'm not sure if it has the same accuracy as the SS/RR models. fspGTD has the Competition and he's able to download HP/Torque plots to the computer.
