Title: AC Blower Fan
Post by: TW on August 17, 2006, 11:25:36 pm
I have a 1980 Audi 5000, I think the electronics are about the same as a Quantum of the same era.  Lately the blower fan only works when it feels like it, usually after the car has ben running about a half hour or so.  I checked the fuses and the relays in the fuse box, nothing wrong in there.  Are there more relays for the blower fan under the steering wheel?  I also tried to run a hot wire directly to the fan, but that didn't work either.  Does anyone know the way to manually wire the fan so it will always be running when the engine is started?

If hotwiring the fan isn't working, you're fan is probably toast.  I managed to get my old fan to spin by using my finger to help it start (being cautious of course).  It ran for about 3-4 minutes before it completely died. :(
