Title: what size torx bit to remove wheel cylinders?
Post by: Master ACiD on August 14, 2006, 05:00:42 pm: im doing a brake overhaul and need a torx bit to remove the cheel cylinders. the auto parts store has no listing for vw, and they say they dont carry metrix torx bits?

Post by: MacGyver on August 14, 2006, 05:57:15 pm: Sorry don't know offhand what size it is you need, but torx is torx, no metric or imperial required. T-10, T-15, T-45, up to at least T-60.

Do yourself a favour though if you buy a set, and get Torx Plus, they fit & drive far nicer as I just found out. Brake job on father in law's 98 Lumina. Seized T-55's hold the caliper carriers on :roll:

and be sure to get 5 6 and 7mm sizes.

I'm guessing they are allen head, not torx.

I haven't worked on anything newer than '91, that has wheel cylinders.
