Title: How`s my mpg?

i got 42mpg(uk) over the last tank,i usally sit at 3k and 80mph on the motorway,i have adjusted the max fuel abit :twisted: and i have made the airbox less restrictive(50mm hole and removed trumpet)
its a 1993 toledo with a 1.9tdaaz lump and would a tdi get much more mpg as i`ve been allowed to raid the joint acct for some dosh.

p.s. my mix is normally 30ltrs svo 20% rug and top up with diesel.

for cruising at 80mph, that's pretty good, tdi's usually do get better mileage

That is indeed pretty good, as I had an Audi 80 with the AAZ engine (and it was bobbins) that only every returned 40mpg max, IF I sat at 70mph like a granny.
IIRC, the book figure for that engine (in the Audi at least) was only 43mpg, and the 1Z engine, a whopping 54mpg!
