Title: Aneroid pins effect on fuel economy?

does a more agressive aneroid pin affect fuel economy a lot? i'll be going on a 1200km road trip this month and deciding if i should just swap the stock 1.9td one back into my golf, i've got a slightly filed 1.6 pin in there now.  It'll be a speed limit, take it easy cruise, so power is not needed.

you could always just turn the 1.6 pin to the least steap side.

i think turning the "smoke screw" makes mileage worse if its turned in too far,but the lda set at max,it doesnt really seem to affect mine

i don't think so, i'll be in seatle on saturday, i'm toying with the idea of staying the night, and checking out the show the next day, but i doubt it.

Very few adjustments on the pump will directly impact your fuel economy at cruise or light "throttle'. The governor, the main fueling adjustment screw and the aneriod only limit injected quantity under certain conditions of engine speed and boost pressure. At all other times the injected quantity is determined directly by the position of your foot on the accelerator. If you stay off the pedal you'll get good economy no matter how your pump is set up, but if you drive with the pedal on the floor all the time, then adjustments of the aneroid and max fuel screw will probably affect fuel economy. In other words, there is no need to adjust the pump differently to restore fuel economy, all you have to do is show a little restraint. :D

i like to turn the fueling back on my car to keep myself out of trouble, cause i'm a kid and i always get the urge to see what my car can do, so now i have turned back, and i know it's not going to do *** when i put the pedal down so it keeps me out of trouble, and more fuel in my tank

I have tried disconnecting my line from the LDA because I have a line running to my boost gauge, pull the line off and my LDA is offline....

AS for fuel economy, I believe with it off when I cruise around that my economy is better, less power of course, but it acts similar to an Eco.

Although, I have seen what a giles pump can do,  heard of its economy ( which is awesome because the foot never left the floor and the car still got 360 km on a 1/4 of the tank) .....

Really it's about restraint,  and a Giles pump,  you can run with out the one, but will feel better with both  ....

Control fuel economy with your right foot, 95% of the time this is true.
