Title: I.P. Rebuild cost
Post by: arfalberg on June 25, 2006, 09:31:00 am
I got a guy telling me it will cost $500 to send my pump to mexico for a rebuild is this about right?  I got an 85 Jetta TD with about 5000 miles on the rebuilt motor and turbo. the pump is leaking lots of fuel, this is the reson for the rebuild. I am teying to do this on the cheap, does anyone know a good place to get a I.P. rebuilt reliably for cheaper?

How much does a giles pump cost?  I thought that was only $600, and it if anywhere near as good as I hear, why not just get it instead of rebuilding the stock pump?

Giles charges about $500 Canadian for a N/A pump, a little more for turbos, and a little more to do the performance mods. So yeah, for about $500US you might as well send it to Giles.
