Title: Just got golf back from pump rebuild
Post by: maddog007 on June 19, 2006, 12:39:05 am
I finally got my golf back ( 3 Weeks) after it went to the shop to have the fuel pump repaired after it was leaking. When i got it back they had set everthing to stock settings, God it was slow,so Ive played around with the fueling to improve drivabilty, & its worked,but....
even before i increased the fueling & idle. it felt funny at about 3000 rpms, like a really harsh felling coming through the accelerator pedal.
I thought increasing the fuel might have fixed this ,but it hasnt, its now just getting enough that it can get past 3000,it didnt want to before.

I never felt this before the rebuild. ?.
Im kinda worried here.
Is this the feeling of the governer starving it ?

Fuel limit is seen before the 3000 rpm limit, think 2500 -2800 rpm,  so do the governor mod, because as you said the pump was set to complete stock setup.

Its more of a strong vibration that it coming almost directly through the acelerator, I noticed that they have cable tied the cable together with another ,which come's up from the engine,I have sniped it free, with any luck this might help,I will find put tommorow.
Also they managd to break the dipstick funnel in the process,No oil is coming out,so thats a good thing I think,
I have to wait 3 weeks for one to come from singapore or something, as all the pparts place's only stock the later model funnel.
