I found an oil link in one of my cylinder head bolt does this warrant a head gasket replacement? I am just planning to unbolt just the one that is leaking
and put silicon into it and re-torque.
thanks

That's what my guess would be. The silicone may help for now but if the gasket has desintegrated (sp?) that far then it's going to keep getting worse.

This is not a job for a newbie right? I can probably dis-assemble the whole thing, But putting it back together
I am not getting the following
1. milk shake looking oil
2. white smoke
3. bubbles in the radiator - I disconnected the hose from the reserve tank and placed it in a bottle of water and revved the engine. I did see very tiny bubbles. How obvious are the bubbles suppose to be?
I have always thought headgasket degrade from the inside.
I will try investigate further this weekend.

the silicone on thebolt is worth a try,,,cant really get worse.........

I did a bit more checking. I found the was not through the bolt. It was comming from the valve cover and was just running down the bolt. I never realized it was the valve cover before because I just replaced the gasket a few weeks ago.
